Arbutus Cunningham, "Mostly Shorts"Award-winning author and storyteller Arbutus Cunningham (a.k.a. Hester Hemmerling) will be telling tales at Artpost Gallery on Sunday, August 15, from 7-9 pm. Originally from South Texas, Arbutus co-hosts a weekly radio show, Old Time Train 45, on WFHB Radio, in Bloomington, Indiana. She is a sought-after spoken-word performer, a world-class storyteller, and can coax a gourd to grow in the bleakest of soil conditions.

Arbutus has released 3 CDs of short stories; her latest is titled Mostly Shorts. She most recently collaborated with Bloomington singer-songwriter Krista Detor and guitarist David Weber to help create Darwin for a Day, a limited run of performances celebrating the amazing life of Charles Darwin and his lasting and profound influence on the world.

Poetry Marathon at Artpost!

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

On April 9th and 10th, poets from the Michiana area read for 15 minute slots, for 24 hours at Artpost’s first ever poetry marathon – our tribute to National Poetry Month in April. Below you can view videos of many of the poets who read, click the arrows right and left to move through them. BIG THANKS to Fiddler’s Hearth, who  donated refreshments and breakfast for the occasion, for Ida and Glenn Williams, who donated chairs and our sound system, and for the many volunteers who kept it all running!
